WORKSHOPS
Come spend a day or two by the sea discovering one of the simplest, most relaxing crafts around: punch needle rug hooking. Alison will teach you everything you need to know to use this simple wooden tool to create anything from rugs to pillows to wall art. With warm guidance, you'll complete a colourful project designed by Alison that you can take home and use to force all your loved ones to comment on how brilliant and talented you are. Groups are always small - never more than eight participants. You'll use gorgeous Atlantic Canadian 100% wool yarn from Canada's oldest woolen mill, often hand-dyed by Alison in her kitchen to get the perfect shade. We’ll explore the main stitches and techniques as well as the most common backing fabrics, frames, and types of fibre that can be used so that you'll have the confidence to forge on post-workshop. Be warned though: you might get hooked.
