WORKSHOPS

Come spend a day or two by the sea discovering one of the easiest, most relaxing crafts around: punch needle fibre art. Alison will teach you everything you need to know to use a simple wooden tool and yarn or strips of fabric to create anything from rugs to pillows to wall art. So many creative possibilities! With warm guidance, you'll complete a colourful project designed by Alison that you'll take home and you can totally use to solicit remarks from your loved ones about how brilliant and talented you are. Groups are always small - never more than eight participants. You'll use delicious 100% wool yarn from Canada's oldest woolen mill, some of it hand dyed by Alison in her kitchen to get the perfect shade. (The bits of hay in it are a great reminder of its delightful provenance.) We’ll explore the main stitches and techniques as well as the most common backing fabrics, frames, and types of fibre that can be used so that you'll have the confidence to forge on post-workshop. Be warned though: you might get hooked.
